MY STORY

For the love of it

For as long as I can remember, my parents brought me to ski hills, fed me boxed lunches in ski lodge cafeterias and bribed me with watered down hot chocolate drinks. It was then only natural for me to pursue a career in this sport, and after working a few seasons while studying, instructing became a passion for me. I had found my calling.

From instructing little ones in Mont Tremblant, Québec, I moved to bigger challenges and started working at Fernie Alpine Resort, BC. There I perfected my riding and instructional techniques, all while discovering my love for splitboarding and backcountry snowboarding. In 2016, I took a new position as Nonstop Adventure's Snowboard Technical Director, and completed my CASI-ACMS Level 4 qualification. It was then I thought snowboarding would maybe start plateauing for me, but it did just the opposite.

After 16 years of instructing in Canada, family life brought me to Sweden where I started to run my own snowboard school: CG Snowboarding. This project is an amalgamation of everything I love about snowboarding and instructing. I hope you will get in on the action and come for a visit in this new landscape full of great mountains to explore, whether it has lifts on it or not.

THE COACHING

Your objectives always in mind

My coaching is based on YOU. We will discuss what you want to achieve and formulate a plan for the time we will spend together, as well as discuss how to move forward in the future. A variety of methods will be used to help you reach your goals.

Tactics will help you feel new sensations that will then be integrated into your riding. Terrain will be explored to give you confidence when you need it, and to challenge you when the time has come.

A two way communication will be established so that you are also part of your own development.

The Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors is one of the most renowned teacher development organisations around the globe, and I am very proud to have achieved their highest level of qualification. Their instructional methods break the riding down efficiently so the learner can make the maximum amount of progression. Check out this video to see what someone with my level of qualification can do, or click on the link below to find out about how you could become an instructor.

SUSTAINABILITY

A greener snowboard experience

At CG Snowboarding, we love snowboarding, but the world is on fire, so it means we need to help our planet in any way we can so that we can continue enjoying cold temperatures and huge dumps.

This is why we will always choose the greenest alternative when planning for camps and courses, so that we can minimize our use of ressources. For example, whenever I am heading north to conduct a course, I will always take public transportation to get there. Sweden is also a country which is doing everything in its power to reduce emissions, so taking a trip to Sweden means you will not only be supporting its tourism industry, you will also be using facilities where the environment was put at the forefront of their conception.

We also offer the possibility to all our guests to monetarily compensate the emissions their trip will cause. Just leave it to us to add it to your bill and we'll take care of the rest!

Get in touch with us to see what else we are doing to minimize our impact on the planet.
