A DAY ON THE COURSE

You make your way out of bed and to breakfast. While you savour a fresh cup of Swedish coffee, you pull up the avalanche bulletin and weather forecast on your phone to give you the right mindset for the day. You then make your way back to your room to get your gear ready and get yourself dressed. Pack on your back and board under the arm, you make your way towards the hotel lobby where you will meet the rest of the crew. The storm has finally cleared and made way to blue skies and bright sunshine.

The snow report indicated a fresh 20 cm of snow, so we decide we will take advantage of the lifts for the morning and put in as many laps in the fresh snow as possible. As the morning goes, we start scoping a line over on Nordals and decide we will start walking up to it. We put our skins on and start hiking.

At the halfway point we stop and take a bite to eat and a swig of water. We contemplate the beautiful untouched slope above us and start looking out for potential hazards. We also place our gaze across the valley towards the Nameless Ridge, and start scoping lines for tomorrow's adventures.

We get to the top and transition back to riding mode. After going over one last safety briefing before the descent, the guide starts making his way down to show the way. The snow is blissful and the moment magical. The only noises being heard are the cheering and hollering coming from the group, as well as the snow whooshing from your snowboard's spray. High-fives and fist-bumps are being given all around, and we start making our way back to the resort. We catch the last lift up towards the front side, and after one more ride Riksgränsen's famous "Branten" (The Steep) we end up in the après bar for a well deserved cold one.

After a nice shower, we meet up for a reindeer dinner down in the hotel restaurant, where we retell the day's stories, as well as look forward to tomorrow's adventure.

Sleep. Repeat.
