Ideally, to join this camp, you should be an intermediate to advanced rider, who can at least find themselves riding the occasional red slope. If those aren't comfortable for you yet, no worries, we'll get you there!
Topics explored during these weeks usually hover around carving, riding steeps and off piste, as well as developing some basic freestyle manoeuvres. All of this is of course depending on snow and weather, and we make that assessment on a daily basis.
All in all, you should be ready to ride with a group of like minded people of slightly varying skill levels, but who all have the desire to ride, get better, and have a blast for a snowboarding holiday. A DAY ON THE COURSE
As the lifts start spinning in the morning, the group will gather at the designated meeting place for the day and make their way towards the top of the mountain. We will use the first few laps to warm up, consolidate the lessons from the previous day, and evaluate how we can keep moving towards our riding goals for the week. Since the nightshift put in an extra effort to give us pristine groomers, we decide to give carving a go for the morning. The group has a blast feeling different things in their riding and getting better at experiencing higher speeds while on edge.
We stop at a wonderful slope side restaurant, where we enjoy today’s special: a delicious reindeer stew served with mashed potatoes and lingonberry jam. As our coffee cups become empty, we get dressed and discuss the plan for the afternoon. We decide we will go and hunt down some fresh powder lines that are left from the previous day’s snowfall.
We make our way to a different side of the mountain and find untouched lines. We apply the concepts we have learned on piste to this new environment so we can make the most of it. What a day! The lesson draws to a close so we make our way back to the village.
Upon our arrival we see that the après bar is booming, but just enough so there’s no queue, so we head in and have a cold pint of Swedish beer while we retell the day’s adventures. The group members head back to their accommodations for a well deserved shower and a break before we meet up again for a fantastic dinner at one of Åre’s world class restaurants.
Sleep. Repeat.
WHAT YOU'RE PAYING FOR
COACHING/VIDEO ANALYSIS
5 full days of coaching including a video analysis debrief session at the end of every lesson day. The coaching will be catered to the individual, taking in consideration the snow conditions and the group's overall objectives.
ONLINE GEAR TECH SESSION
A couple of weeks before the course, we will have an online tech session about gear to ensure everyone has everything they need for the trip.
24/7 HOSTING
Your coach will act as your personal host for the duration of your stay. You will be able to contact him at any point during the course with any issue you may have.
ON CALL TRAVEL PLANNING
As part of this program, I will be ready and on call (via chat or phone) for any help you may need with booking accommodations or transportation to and from the camp.
